Our Stamford Store

Bog Dog Running is an independent running shop at 42 Broad Street, Stamford, PE9 1PX — a proper bricks-and-mortar shop, run by runners, where you can try things on, ask awkward questions and walk out on shoes that actually fit.

The Bog Dog Running shopfront at 42 Broad Street, Stamford — navy frontage in the old Central cinema building

Look for the navy shopfront in the old Central building on the corner — the art deco frontage is hard to miss.

We're right in the middle of Stamford town centre, with free parking on Broad Street and the North Street car park is a 2 minute walk. The shop has a wheelchair-accessible entrance, we take cards and contactless, and dogs are welcome — it would be a bit rich of us not to.

Gait analysis, in store

Our gait analysis is the heart of what we do, and it only happens here in Stamford. Forty-five minutes, one-to-one, on the treadmill and off it — how you land, how you load, what you're training for and what's been hurting. You leave knowing why a shoe suits you, not just that it does.

It's £40, and you get £20 of that back against any shoes you buy in the session.

What to bring: shorts or leggings you can run in, your current running shoes (worn soles tell us a lot), and any insoles or orthotics you use. If something's been hurting, tell us — that's the most useful thing you can bring.

What's in the shop

Road, trail and track shoes across Hoka, Saucony, Altra, New Balance, Topo Athletic and True Motion, plus kit for weather Lincolnshire does properly — waterproofs, base layers, head torches from Montane and Petzl — and the socks, nutrition and hydration you'll want for the longer stuff.

Walk in or book ahead

You're welcome to walk in any time we're open — that's what a shop is for. But Saturdays fill up, and a gait analysis needs the treadmill and a full 45 minutes of someone's attention, so if you're coming for a fitting it's worth booking a slot.

Not sure what you need? Ring us on 01780 594165 and we'll tell you honestly whether it's a five-minute job or worth a proper session.

Running in and around Stamford

Stamford Park parkrun is on our doorstep on a Saturday morning, and you'll usually spot a few of us there. Beyond that, the Meadows, the Welland path and the trails out towards Rutland Water are where most of our kit testing gets done — so if you want route advice as well as shoe advice, ask.

We work with local clubs and events across Stamford, Rutland and south Lincolnshire. If you run one and want to talk to us, come in and say so.
